Self Portrait Photos

Last week I asked you to create your self portrait out of LEGO, here is what you all came up with;

by July, age 6, Australia.

“Here is my self portrait! I started off making it flat with a big square head, but then I took bits away from the sides and made it 3D. I loved doing this challenge!"

by Harrison, age 6, Sydney, Australia.

by Minna, age 5, Kyoto, Japan.

"This is me, with red hair clips."

by Jakob, age 8, Brewster, New York, USA.

"This is me at the aquarium. Behind my self portrait is my fish. My fish's name is Rainbow. I named him that because When he is in the light he has a lot of different colors on him."

Black ninja is playing on computer games - I quite like that. 3. The White ninja is jumping on the trampoline just like I like doing. 4. Red ninja is reading in bed. Thank you for reading this.

by Levi, age 11, Far North Queensland, Australia.

"This is a model of me in Lego, as you can see I am rather larger than the other minifigs. I love to build Lego with the colour Red and Blue thats why he has got Red pants and a Blue T-shirt."

by Elijah, age 8, New South Wales, Australia.

"This is me walking down the steps from our new house. My sister is already awake playing on the swing. And then I just see my pet dog ‘Sizzle’. Sizzle needs fresh water every day and dog food too."

by Ethan, age 7, New South Wales, Australia.

"I did us living at our new house because I love it there. This is me holding the lead of the dog. I made it out of wool. In front of me there’s a bonfire and behind me there’s a fish pond and a dog kennel for the dog. Our dad is cooking a special lunch on the bbq. He’s cooking fish. The other photo is of what’s inside the house; Elijah, my brother, is on the computer typing out emails to his friends."

by Iris, age 8, Connecticut, USA.

"Self portrait of me opening my mouth very wide!!!"

by Ruben, age 11, Saskatchewan, Canada.

by Chandler, age 7, USA.

"It is a battle. I'm the ninja captain. We got all the bad guys and claimed the fort. I fight for good and peace."

by Carter, age 5, USA.

"It is a ninja car. I'm in the back and I'm the captain. The car can roll over everything and so can I. I can face any challenge."

by Ashley, age 3, USA.

"It is a moving violation with lots of eyes and flowers. Ashley is always going and likes to be in everything and is a tomboy like her brothers but with flowers!"

by Lochlan, age 5, Canada.

" This is my lego creation. The two L's let you know that it is me."

by Micah, age 7, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

by Moriah, age 5, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

by Gabriel, age 8, New Jersey, USA.

"This is me playing the drums."

by Rachel, age 11, North Carolina, USA.

by Ava, age 6, USA.

"I have a bunny named Cupcake. Sometimes her paw bleeds and we take care of her. I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up."

by Callum, age 12, Japan.

"This is a minifigure of myself. (My beanie is green not black though.)"

by Finnegan, age 8, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

by Keira, age 5, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

by Luke, age 11, Southern New Jersey Shore, USA.

"This odd creation shows two Bionicle Figures playing a game of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu. The one on the right lost the round and is really angry. This is actually a symbolic representation. First, I like Bionicles, as expressed in the two figures. The one on the left has ice powers that show I love the snow. The one on the right has shadow powers that show my nightophobia (fear of the dark). The custom Ninjago characters represent my passion for minifig building while the arena shows that I really like Ninjago Sets. The two Bionicle figures are sitting on Heroica Boxes because I am addicted to Heroica games. As a side note, the Bionicle on the right, called Teridax, has Chronic Loser Syndrome or CLS. Despite the fact that he played a usually crippling set of Ninjago Battle Cards, he lost. As if to add insult to injury, Teridax forgot about the card that could have completely prevented his loss because of how upset he was that he lost. The left Bionicle, Avkazot, isn't quite sure what to do because this is the first time he has ever seen Teridax throw a fit. I have been in situations somewhat similar to both Bionicles."

by Xanti, age 11, California, USA.

"This is me building one of my first personal creations, of course, the actual creation was bigger but..."

by Sophie, age 7, Saskatchewan, Canada.

"These are some of my favourite things. A big bowl of popcorn, a turtle, an inchworm, a flower and an ice cream cone."

by Simon, age 9, Saskatchewan, Canada.

by Raymond, age 7, USA.

"This is his face. The black is his hair, the whites are his eyes, the greys are his ears, the green is his nose. He is smiling a very big smile."

by Luke, age 8, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

"A self portrait of Luke doing computer technology work."

by Will, age 5, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

"A self portrait of Will riding a fast snow sled down a hill."

by Rory, age 8, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

"Rory likes to eat ice cream and fish with his dad."

by Penina, mom of Tal, who is age 12, Southern California.

"I had three ideas, and ended up combining two of them: A picture frame, and a combination of different minifigure heads to represent the many different sides of me (including Momo!). Tal took the photo."

Surrealism Photos

by Julian, age 9, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"The Panthouse."

by Jonathan, age 8, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

"Dinner On the Ceiling. I made a firefighter's dinner party. A customer is puzzling about why they're on the ceiling."

by Calvin, age 10, California, USA.

"This is one of Salvador Dali's melting clocks."

by Nathan, age 11, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

"Escher's Garden. Based on Maurits Cornelius Escher's (one of my favorite artists) Relitivitat, I've constructed on digital designer a garden in three dimensions for three dimensions."

by Minna, age 5, Kyoto, Japan.

by Zach, age 9, Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

"I created a Lego Ninjas Apprentice design, where the scene takes place in the Skeleton King's Lair. The skeleton king is fighting the ninja near the wall. The other two skeletons are the henchmen and the skeleton with the red head is the personal body guard of the skeleton king. The reason for the fight, the skeleton king is trying to take over the world, and have everyone obey him. The ninja and his apprentice are fighting to prevent this takeover. The irony is, people think he's trying to unleash darkness, but in reality, he's afraid of darkness, and attempting to release bright colors, because the people in that town are afraid of flying colors. That's why the skeleton's lair is brightly colored. Finally, when the skeleton king releases his flying colors, the people will be forced to obey him."

by Bill, age 6, New South Wales, Australia.

"I had a lot of fun with this challenge. I made the man's head a long block and moved his body over to make it look crazy!"

by Josh, age 10, Florida, USA.

"This is an alien attack. The aliens have sent down giant robots to attack the planet!"

by Miles, age 7, Washington, D.C., USA.

by Malcolm, age 9 1/2, Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

"When I read the description of the challenge, I thought of people walking up walls and random stuff. So, I found some Duplo heads and added them to mini-fig bodies. One mouse head has a tree on top and he's holding a mini-fig head and a shield. Then, I made them do unrealistic
things. Then, I remembered how my rock monsters aren't real. So, I made them do things that were not real like putting a long blue stick hanging from one rock monster's hand into the mouth of another. There is a skeleton horse sitting on top of a platform and another horse in the middle of nowhere, eating grass."

by Joe, age 8, Newbury, England.

"Its a picture of BOB. If you look closely he has a tennis racket in one hand. In the other has a plate with his name."

by Nathanael, age 12, Stony Plain, Alberta, Canada.

"A zombie hoard attacking survivors in a half track vehicle."

by Gid, age 6, Manitoba, Canada.

"This is a chicken egg raiding other parts of its farm. It's driving a tank!"

by Eli, age 9, Manitoba, Canada.

"This is my dragon and the dark part on the mountain is its cave."

by Noa, age 11, Manitoba, Canada.

"These are my fairies going to a picnic for all mythical creatures. Their wings are moving so fast that you can't even see them."

by Day, age 12, Manitoba, Canada.

"I made a haunted house with ghosts flying out of it."

by Charlie, age 7, Blue Mountains, Australia.

"A dog flying a plane and an eye poking out of a wall. "

by Grace, age 9 and Lily, age 7, Louisiana, USA.

"This is a flying cat. All the people (and they're skeleton friends) have gathered on the rooftops to watch it fly by."

by Adrienne, age 14, South Western Ontario, Canada.

"Modern art gallery. There are paintings on the walls and a sculpture in the centre."

by Celine, age 7, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

"This is a monster attacking a town and there are lots of people running from it."

by Caleb, age 6, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

"This is a giant space robot attacking a StarBucks and a guy with a sword can be seen attacking the robots leg."

by Joey, age 11, Ohio, USA.

"This is a attack ship that is trying to avoid flying cows that are protecting the Egg Sun."

by Sam, age 8, California, USA.

"My lego creation is an army of 20 monsters. The leader of the monsters is a guy with an octopus for his head and he rides on his skeleton horse. The other monsters are just ordinary soldiers. They wipe out many villages along the coast of Saturn. The rock base is their leaders secret throne. P.S. Do not go to Saturn."

by Alice, age 10, Blue Mountains, Australia.

"The Eleventh Doctor Who fighting himself driven by a gorilla on a snow mobile, a dog driving a tower car boat , a crocodile firing snowballs at the Doctors and a cat in a wall with an eye and a cat on top with a human head".

by Lucy, age 6.5, and Taran, age 9, Stone Mountain, Georgia, USA.

"Lucy, along with her starter Snivy, are modeling her creation - a flying peg-a-corn (combination of a pegasus and a unicorn) with a weird person riding on it . Her brother, Taran, created the person astride the peg-a-corn, but Lucy made the peg-a-corn itself."

by "L", age 6, North Carolina, USA.

"I love trains. Mommy showed me pictures about surrealism and we saw one with a train coming out of a fireplace, so that's what I made. And the LEGO guys are like whoa!."

by Jack, age 8, North America.

"The name of my picture is Beast and Alien in the Clouds. The alien has 3 heads. The beast is in the clouds."

by Emily, age 5, North America.

"My art is called Ocean Treehouse. Ooooooh. Its cool."

by Zak, age 7, Ohio, USA.

"I made a giraffe cutting down a tree for food."

by Erin, age 5, Ohio, USA.

"I made a long necked two legged cat."

by Fin, age 6, Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

"It's a bed on top of a tree. It's surrealist because beds don't belong on top of trees. The bed is kind of floating and kind of not."

by Gabriel, age 7, New Jersey, USA.

"This is a battle scene. The two figures in the back with the race car helmets are ghosts. The figure on the right is going to limbo under the fire. The surrealistic part of my battle scene is the gymnast standing in the middle of the battle."

by Michael, age 6, California, USA.

by Ethan, age 8, Columbus, Ohio, USA.

"A combination of boat, plane and car. It is called the All Roader."

by Cleary, age 11, California, USA.

by Shannon, age 9, California, USA.

"There is a crocodile making a go cart, and someone trying to ride a vehicle, but one of its wheels is a banana."

by November, age 8, New South Wales, Australia.

“I really liked the Wolf/Table by Victor Brauner which is a table made from wood with a taxidermied fox. In my lego sculpture the fox is watching TV and on the TV there are men claiming a pizza with flags. The lego figure that is holding the flag was too late to claim the pizza. You can look through the television and see it happening in real life. This is really surreal."

by July, age 6, New South Wales, Australia.

“I like the painting by Rene Magritte where the artist was painting a bird while he was looking at an egg. This is my version using heads as eggs. In the back right corner, the man is looking at a big ginormous newspaper. Surrealist artists loved newspapers and magazines. The person at the front right is painting a portrait of a boy and he has glued real hair on the top."

by Rachel, age 11, North Carolina, USA.

“This is a lady dressed up as an Egyptian holding a snake and making two mice and a scorpion behave. The people are watching the Egyptian lady.”

by Luke, age 10, North Carolina, USA.

"This is an alien invasion."

by Sarah, age 7, North Carolina, USA.

"There is an ewok holding a radio and then there are snakes attacking a girl and there is another ewok and a clone. A lady is holding a cup and there is a monkey on a girl’s bed.”

by Juan, age 10, Pennsylvania, USA.

"Title: Carnival. This is my dream carnival. There is paintball, a boat ride, a spinster ride, a siege tower play area, lemonade and nacho stands, knock down the bottle game, flying laser tag bumper cars, and of course, the most important part...the bathroom. Some have moving parts."

by Sydney, age 9, Virginia, USA.

by Micah, age 7, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

"This is Luke Skywalker's F Flyer. It can turn into a submarine, an airplane and a car."

by Moriah, age 5, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

"This is a Bubble Gum ice cream cone with a bush and a flower on top of it. The ice cream can turn into seaweed, clouds or the sun."

by Luke, age 10, Southern New Jersey, USA.

"This LEGO surrealist sculpture I made is called Ice and Acid. It's two sided and is on a spinning base. Though the picture shows just a little bit of both sides, One side has a frozen waterfall and the other a downward flowing river of acid."

by Elijah, age 9, New Mexico, USA.

by Jakob, age 8, Brewster, New York, USA.

"This is a switched up speedboat with a deformed guy on it, floating on lava."

by William, age 5, Marietta, Georgia, USA.

by Evelyn, age 3, Marietta, Georgia, USA.

"Its a pink boat that steals waffles."

by Jaden, age 11, West Richland, Washington, USA.
